Ipswich Announce First Summer Transfer Done Deal As £20m World-Class Talent Is Sealed

Ipswich Town have officially opened their summer transfer window with a major statement signing, as the newly promoted Premier League side complete a deal worth around £20million for a top-rated Championship star.

Ipswich Town have now agreed a deal to sign Millwall forward Femi Azeez in what becomes their first major signing of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been one of Millwall’s standout performers in the Championship, and Ipswich have moved decisively to win the race for his signature ahead of rival interest from other Premier League clubs.

The deal is understood to be worth in the region of £20million, with negotiations progressing quickly after Ipswich identified Azeez as a key attacking target.

Azeez is seen as a versatile, dynamic forward who can operate across the front line, offering pace, directness, and goal threat qualities Ipswich believe will translate to the Premier League.


Azeez played a key role for Millwall last season, registering 11 goals and seven assists in 35 league appearances, despite the club narrowly missing out on a play-off final place after defeat to Hull City.

His performances attracted growing interest across the Premier League, but Ipswich have acted early to secure what they believe is a “world-class Championship talent” with long-term potential.

Millwall had valued the player highly and were reluctant to lose him, especially with his contract running until 2028. However, Ipswich’s £20m offer proved too strong to resist.
