Leicester Fans Stunned – Jamie Vardy Names His ‘Biggest Rivals’

Jamie Vardy is a former Leicester City player who, despite being from Sheffield, never played for Sheffield Wednesday or Sheffield United.

Vardy’s rise to Leicester City is one of football’s most remarkable stories. After being released by Sheffield Wednesday as a youth, he began in non-league with Stocksbridge Park Steels, impressing with his pace and work ethic.

He moved on to Halifax Town and then Fleetwood Town, where his goals helped the club reach the Football League for the first time. Leicester City signed him in 2012.

Initially questioned, Vardy adapted quickly, becoming a lethal forward and central to one of football’s greatest underdog stories, eventually winning the Premier League and earning England caps.

During his Leicester career, Vardy scored 200 goals in 500 games. Now 39, Vardy plays for Cremonese in Serie A, having scored five goals in 24 games this season. A move to Sheffield Wednesday is unlikely, as timing and circumstances never aligned for him to join his boyhood club.
