Wrexham’s star players Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer future at the club revealed

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has made it clear on strikers Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer future at the club after a promotion to championship, due to limited playing time in recent months.

The pair, who have been crucial in Wrexham’s rapid climb up the English football league system, future at the club revealed heading to next season.

Wrexham, famously owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, recently secured a third successive promotion, earning a place in the English Championship for the 2025/26 season. This incredible achievement has placed the club in the spotlight once again, and attention has now turned to the squad that helped make it possible.

Among those players are Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer, two key figures who played instrumental roles in Wrexham’s recent promotions from the National League to League Two, and then to League One.

Mullin, in particular, has been a standout performer, finishing as the club’s top scorer in two of those campaigns. With 110 goals to his name, he ranks seventh on Wrexham’s all-time top scorers list.

His attacking partner, Palmer, has also made significant contributions, scoring 44 goals in 149 appearances and forming a strong on-field partnership with Mullin.

However, both players have found it difficult to get playing time this season, with neither featuring in a league match since January. This lack of minutes has led to speculation about their future at the club.

Addressing the situation, Parkinson told BBC Sport Wales that every player in the squad has played a part in the club’s success, regardless of how many minutes they’ve had on the pitch.

“Everyone’s made a contribution,” he said. “What level that has been doesn’t matter because everybody’s been together and contributed. Of course, there are players who would have liked to play more, but contributions come in many forms.”

He also reassured fans of Mullin and Palmer’s importance to the club. “Mulls and Ollie will always be legends at this club for what they’ve done. They’re under contract next year and they’ll be back in pre-season ready to go again.”

With Wrexham preparing for life in the Championship, it appears both Mullin and Palmer will still have a role to play in the club’s next chapter.
