Villa led 1-0 at halftime thanks to Morgan Rogers, but Spurs turned the game around with goals from Brennan Johnson, two from Dominic Solanke, and a late free-kick by James Maddison.
Keane highlighted the equalizer just four minutes into the second half, noting Son Heung-Min’s excellent cross that Villa couldn’t defend against. He said, “It was a brilliant reaction from Spurs.
They needed an early goal in the second half, and the delivery was fantastic. Villa’s defense faltered once Son got the ball. Johnson made a great run, and the cross was almost impossible to defend.”
Lampard commented on Villa’s struggle during the second goal, saying, “Sometimes you’re most vulnerable when trying to counter. Spurs executed their play well.
Villa looked a bit disorganized. The diagonal pass from Johnson was hard to defend, and the finish was excellent.”
Redknapp noted that Spurs improved their pressing in the second half. He said, “Bissouma and Sarr were aggressive, exposing a disorganized Villa defense.
Sarr and Richarlison made the right passes, and Solanke capitalized by getting into the box. If you get into that six-yard area, you’ll score. Spurs were much better in the second half, aggressive and a joy to watch.”
