Head coach Ange Postecoglou is now seeking a more dynamic left-sided forward to bolster the squad and add more quality to the attack.

With the arrivals of youngster Wilson Odobert and Dominic Solanke from french League 1 side and Bournemouth respectively, Werner finds himself lower in the attacking choice, further decreasing his chances of regular playing time at the club.

This inconsistency may be trace to lack of his confidence, a point recently revealed by Postecoglou.

The manager has acknowledged Werner’s all-round skill set but is looking for a winger who can offer greater versatility and consistency in front of goal.

The club is reportedly keeping a close eye on Club Brugge’s Andreas Skov Olsen as a potential replacement.

With Werner’s current situation, it seems increasingly likely that he will leave Spurs once his loan spell concludes at the end of the season.

Interestingly, the loan agreement does include a clause that could allow for an early termination in January, but only if another club expresses genuine interest and makes a convincing offer to his parent club RB Leipzig.

With his current situation at Tottenham, the possibility of an early exit seems slim. Unless an injury crisis hits the forward line of spurs, it appears Werner will remain at the club till the end of the season.

The disappointment surrounding Werner’s time at Spurs shows the complexity of the game of football, where a player’s value can reduce quickly due to poor form no matter how good he was.

Tottenham supporters had hoped the German international could replicate the goal-scoring prowess he displayed during his time at the Bundesliga, but so far, he has failed to deliver much to there satisfaction.

Despite his work ethic, he has struggled to capitalized on his opportunities go. Spurs now eyeing potential bolstering in January, the board may soon have to confront the question of Werner’s future more directly than ever.

Spurs now focus on reinforcing its attacking options, Werner’s time in the Premier League could soon come to an end, marking a disappointing chapter not for the first in the English Premier League after he failed at Chelsea.
