Manchester City Keen to Sign £80 Million-Rated In-Form Spurs Star

Norwegian beast Erling Haaland scored his 14th goal of the season putting Manchester City ahead early in their latest fixture at The Etihad, yet Pep Guardiola’s side struggled to find a second goal throughout the game, leaving the match uncertain.

The victory lifted City to the top of the Premier League standings leapfrogging Arne Slot’s Liverpool, although Liverpool could reclaim that position if they should record a win against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

Meanwhile, off the pitch, City appear to be laying the groundwork for a notable transfer, targeting one of their former players currently at a Premier League rival who has been on top notch form.

Reports from Football Insider indicate that City are closely monitoring full-back Pedro Porro, currently with Tottenham Hotspur, as they consider a potential re-signing the player.

The 25-year-old Spaniard’s journey began in City’s youth academy, and after a loan spell at Sporting CP, he made a permanent move to the Portuguese club in 2022.

In January of the following year, Porro joined Spurs on loan, a move that became permanent six months later after his impressive performances for the club. Since then, he has made over 60 appearances for Tottenham, scoring eight goals and providing ten assists.

Porro’s performance this season has been noteworthy, he has started all eight of Spurs’ Premier League matches so far finishing almost all 90 minutes.

The report suggests that City are already planning Kyle Walker’s exit from the with the veteran full-back already in the final stage of his career and the club view Porro as a perfect replacement to the England international.

Despite not making single appearance in any senior matches during his three years stay at City, Porro has become a key target for their right-back position following his impressive performances under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Currently employed at Spurs until the end of the 2027/28 season, Porro is valued at approximately £80 million by the London club, making any potential transfer a significant investment for the league holders.
