Leicester City’s Star Player’s Game Weakness Exposed After Defeat to Nottingham Forest

Steve Cooper has identified a key weakness in one Leicester City player following their defeat to Nottingham Forest, where Chris Wood’s performance ultimately sealed the match for the visitors at the kings power stadium.

Leicester City initially showcased a promising first half, with Jamie Vardy making history as the fourth oldest player in Premier League history to score in consecutive games.

However, the Foxes’ defensive fragility were exposed after the first half break, particularly through the errors of Wout Faes, who was responsible for Nottingham’s third goal, allowing Wood to deftly chip the ball over goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

While Leicester’s attack saw moments of brilliance, notably from Facundo Buonanotte, the second half exposed a glaring issue in the winger’s game.

Buonanotte has been a standout performer early in the 2024/25 season, proving pivotal in securing victories against Bournemouth and Southampton so far this season. His contributions have been instrumental in keeping Leicester city afloat as the season progresses.

However, as the match progressed against Nottingham Forest, Buonanotte’s frustration became evident adding little contributions to the final third.

According to LeicestershireLive, he “let frustration get the better of him in the second period,” which ultimately halt his effectiveness in the game.

In the latter stages of the match, he struggled to maintain the impact he had earlier in the game, which played a significant role in Leicester’s decline towards the final 90 mins of the game.

Steve Cooper holds a difficult task to address these issues as the Foxes face some tricky fixtures in the coming days.

With their star player allowing his frustration to become a weakness, opposing teams are likely to capitalize on it to bring the high-flying Foxes down.
