Peixoto was officially appointed at Wolverhampton Wanderers after Rob Edwards was dismissed just days after the club’s relegation to the Championship, with the Portuguese coach immediately stepping into a rebuilding project at Molineux.
One of his first priorities has been squad communication, with senior players being contacted ahead of pre-season to clarify roles and expectations under his system.
Among them is Kieran Trippier, who recently joined Wolves from Newcastle United on a free transfer, becoming one of the club’s marquee signings for their push to return to the Premier League.
Sources indicate Peixoto has made it clear internally that Trippier remains central to his plans, easing any uncertainty created by the sudden managerial change that briefly unsettled parts of the squad.
Trippier had initially been persuaded to join by the previous coaching structure, and Edwards’ departure caused short-term concern within the dressing room. However, there is no indication he is reconsidering his move, with the 35-year-old expected to report for pre-season training as scheduled.
The England international has already been pictured training independently during the off-season and is expected to play a leadership role in Wolves’ Championship campaign.
Peixoto, who is still awaiting full clearance to formally begin his duties at Compton Park, is also engaging with senior figures across the squad and backroom staff as he looks to install his tactical identity early in pre-season.
With Wolves aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League, early communication with key players is seen internally as a priority to stabilise the squad and avoid further uncertainty during the transition period.
